Position Responsibilities
The School of Trades and Technology is seeking a Full time Probationary Continuous Instructor to teach primarily in the Computer Programming diploma as well as potentially some courses in the Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics and Network Administration diplomas.
Responsibilities of Full-Time Faculty at the School of Trades and Technology include (but are not limited to):
Delivering courses congruent with established course curricula and program outcomes
Supporting the success of students with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and learning styles
Assessing student learning in ways that both facilitate learning and ensure achievement against appropriate academic standards
Inspiring students by exhibiting enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and subject material
Contributing to course and program curriculum development and renewal
Engaging in scholarly activity within the domains of Ernest Boyer’s model: scholarship of discovery, application, integration, and teaching
Working collegially within department, School, or Institution committees and project teams
Red Deer Polytechnic’s School of Trades and Technology is a multidisciplinary school committed to innovation, applied learning, and student success across a broad spectrum of programs. Our Science and Computing programs are rapidly growing, offering certificates, diplomas, university transfer options, and collaborative degrees that prepare students for careers in research, industry, health, and technology.
In addition to our expanding Science and Computing programs, we are Alberta’s third-largest provider of Skilled Trades Apprenticeship training, offering 17 trades and two Engineering Technology diplomas. A minimum of 3 years related work experience
