Become an integral part of Xyólheméylh as an Indigenous Policy Research Consultant in Chilliwack, BC. Focus on evaluating policies and frameworks that promote Indigenous children's rights and cultural heritage.
In this full-time, 18-month term position, you will oversee the research and development of strategic initiatives aimed at supporting Indigenous children, youth, and families. You will analyze legislation, policies, and the unique socio-cultural context of First Nations communities. Your contributions will inform leadership decisions and enhance policy practices across jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate evaluation of strategic frameworks and initiatives
• Analyze reports, legislation, and policies for decision-making
• Produce briefings and presentations for public and leadership
• Mobilize resources for collective action within communities
• Support policy tables for recent program implementation
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field
• 3+ years' experience in child and family policy
• Familiarity with Indigenous child welfare systems
• Knowledge of legislation affecting Indigenous rights
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence required
