A guaranteed 30+ hours/week float RPN role across two Northern Ontario addictions clinics, with real team support and strong total compensation.22nd September, 2026Float RPN Wanted: A Nursing Role Built Around Stability, Not Just a PaycheckThis role may also be known as: Travelling RPN – Addictions Treatment, Regional Float Nurse (RPN), RPN – Multi-Site Outpatient ProgramThe OpportunityWhat if your next nursing role didn't ask you to choose between stability and variety? This float Registered Practical Nurse position covers two outpatient addictions treatment clinics — Fort Frances and Dryden — and guarantees a minimum of 30 hours a week, even during slower periods. You'll be based out of whichever clinic is closer to home, travelling to the other site as coverage requires, and working closely with a small, dedicated clinical team at each location. This isn't a high-volume, high-turnover environment — it's meaningful, relationship-driven work supporting people through addictions treatment and recovery.Compensation is thoughtfully built out too: a competitive hourly wage, mileage reimbursement, travel and meal coverage, and after three months, a full benefits package including RRSP matching and paid wellness days. Why This Prospect Is DifferentMost float roles ask you to bounce between unfamiliar teams with little structure. Here, each site runs on a tight two-person clinical model — one nurse, one Patient Care Coordinator — so you're never lost in a crowd. You'll have real autonomy in how you manage your patient care,

direct exposure to a specialized area of practice, and the stability of guaranteed hours most float positions don't offer. What You'll Be DoingProviding nursing coverage across the Fort Frances and Dryden clinics, travelling between sites as scheduling requiresWorking alongside each clinic's full-time nurse and Patient Care CoordinatorAdministering patient medications and treatments in line with clinic protocolsMaintaining accurate nursing records and patient documentationWhat We're Looking ForActive registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical NurseCurrent First Aid and CPR certificationValid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicleComfort with a float schedule and regular travel between two clinic sitesA compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patients in addictions treatment and recoveryCompensation & Work Model$29.87 – $30.47 per hour. Mileage reimbursed at $0.58/km; hotel and a $50/day meal allowance provided for travel outside the home service area. After three months: vacation time, continuing education credit, licence fee reimbursement, 10 wellness days (5 paid/5 unpaid), and RRSP matching at 0.5%. Onsite role, based across the Fort Frances and Dryden clinics.Location & TravelHome base is whichever clinic (Fort Frances or Dryden) is closest to the candidate, with regular travel to the other site. Willingness to occasionally cover additional shifts in Longlac or Thunder Bay is a bonus, not a requirement.
