As a first‑line supervisor of retail sales workers, your day‑to‑day as a Retail Store Assistant Manager will involve a diverse mix of leadership, administrative, and customer‑facing tasks. You will be responsible for overseeing point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, tracking daily sales metrics, and ensuring accurate inventory management using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. Because this is a highly regulated sector,
meticulous attention to detail is required. You will ensure that all sales transactions comply with provincial regulations, which is why a willingness to obtain your CanSell certification is an absolute necessity for this position. Responsibilities
Support the store owner in all aspects of daily dispensary operations as the Retail Store Assistant Manager
Lead, train, and motivate a small team of retail associates to achieve exceptional sales results
Oversee daily transactions and troubleshoot any issues utilizing modern POS systems
Manage and track inventory, sales data, and shift reports accurately using Google Sheets and Excel
Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner to maintain high levels of client satisfaction
Enforce strict adherence to all cannabis industry regulations and internal store policies
Assist in visual merchandising and ensuring the store remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Participate actively in the four‐week product knowledge onboarding to become a subject matter expert
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages team retention and growth
Execute opening and closing procedures safely and securely according to standard operating protocols
Qualifications
Exceptional customer service skills with a natural ability to build rapport with diverse client bases
Proficiency in utilizing and troubleshooting retail POS systems
Strong technical aptitude with mandatory experience using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
