Please note this is a francophone positionThe Qualified Split-Shift Educator supports a safe, welcoming, and engaging setting for school-age children before and after the school day. Working collaboratively with the childcare team, this position plans and delivers activities based on children’s interests, strengths, and needs while promoting independence, positive relationships, and well-being. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and is looking for a schedule that includes both morning and afternoon shifts.
Provide active supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities based on the interests and needs of school-age children.
Create a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages independence, exploration, and social development.
Build caring and respectful relationships with children, families, and team members.
Support children with transitions before and after the school day.
Use positive guidance strategies to support behaviour, self-regulation, problem-solving, and social skills.
Observe children and communicate important information or concerns to the appropriate team members.
Complete required program documentation, attendance records, and incident reports.
Collaborate with colleagues and families to support consistent, high-quality care.
Follow the CCEYA, Public Health requirements, and Magic Triangle policies and procedures.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and professional workplace.
Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators; or
Diploma in Child and Youth Care/Child and Youth Worker (CYC/CYW) or another recognized equivalent qualification; or
Teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) .
