Hays Civil Construction are partnered with our client, a growing General Contractor, as they hire an experienced Water/ Sewer, Heavy Civil Superintendent.

Your newpany Thepany has been around for over 5 years now and is continuing to expand and grow, focusing mainly on Civil Infrastructure projects across Ontario.

Due to a newly won client and project, they are excited to wee aboard a Civil Superintendent to join.

Your new Role

Thepany is seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to provide field leadership and oversee the successful execution of major transit and heavy-civil infrastructure projects.

The Superintendent will be responsible for daily construction operations, field planning, workforce coordination, subcontractor management, productivity, quality, schedule performance, andpliance with project requirements.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering TTC and/or Metrolink projects and the ability to lead field teams in a demanding construction environment.

Your day-to-day will consist of the following: Lead and coordinate daily construction activities at assigned project sites; develop short-term work plans and coordinate labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and site access requirements; Ensure construction activities arepleted according to drawings, specifications, approved procedures, project schedules, and client requirements; Coordinate forepersons, subcontractors, trades, suppliers, inspectors, and other field personnel; Monitor field productivity, project progress, labour requirements, equipment use, and material availability; Identify potential delays, constraints, constructibility concerns,



and field conflicts before they affect the project schedule; Work with the Project Manager and Scheduler to develop look-ahead schedules and recovery plans; Conduct site inspections and monitor workmanship andpliance with quality requirements; Review drawings, specifications, work plans, method statements, and scopes of work before construction begins; Ensure deficiencies, non-conformances, and field issues are documented and corrected promptly; Maintain accurate daily reports, labour records, equipment records, progress updates, photographs, and other site documentation; Participate in project meetings, coordination meetings, schedule reviews, and subcontractor meetings;municate project progress, risks, incidents, delays, and resource concerns to the Project Manager; Support project inspections, testing,missioning, closeout, and turnover activities.

What you’ll need to Succeed

To succeed as a civil Superintendent, you will have 8+ years of civil construction experience, including progressively responsible field-leadership experience; minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent or in aparable field-leadership position; Direct experience working on TTC and/or Metrolinx projects is required; Experience managing heavy-civil, transit, infrastructure, sewer and water main, structural concrete,



or similar construction activities; Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, drawings, specifications, schedules, quality requirements, and field documentation; Demonstrated ability to coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, equipment, and site personnel; Experience working in high-traffic, operational, public-transit, or restricted-access environments is considered an asset; Strongputer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams; Valid driver’s licence; Strong field leadership and workforce-management skills; Ability to plan and sequence construction activities; Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities; Strong understanding of productivity and schedule management; Effectivemunication with field and office teams; Ability to address conflicts professionally and promptly; Strong attention to quality and project requirements; Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced setting; High level of accountability, reliability, and ownership.

What you’ll get in Return As the Civil Superintendent, you will earn a base salary of $115, 000.00- $150, 000.00 dependent on experience, with a discretionary performance bonus,pany vehicle, benefits, and more.
