The successful candidate will teach Music Explorations 6, 7, 8 & Band 6, 7, 8.*This opportunity is a temporary UFN contract, which is subject to change or cancel before June 30, 2027 .

In the event the teacher returns to work (work-hardening, part time, full-time) before the end of the school year, the duration and/or FTE of this temporary assignment will be amended.

The successful applicant must accept the reduced work week (amended to a part-time contract ) and will revert to a casual TTOC.

Education & Experience Bachelor of Fine Arts with Major/Minor in Music Demonstrated successful teaching experience in Recording Art, Musical Theater, Concert Band, Choir, Jr Jazz Band, and Sr Jazz Band at the Secondary School level Major practicum/work experience in Music at the Secondary School level Secondary or middle teacher training with university level music training Eligible for B.C.

Certification Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports Teaching Competencies All teachers are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs,



feelings and capabilities of others in a tactful, compassionate and respectful manner.

Organization & Planning: Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation and assessment Classroom Management: Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics.

Facilitation & Engagement: Ability to capture and maintain students’ interest, effort, participation and enthusiasm for both the content and the process of learning Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies.

Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives Caring & Inclusiveness: Create and maintain an environment that is caring, inclusive and supportive of all students Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in the ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances
