Become a vital part of the YMCA team in Edmonton as a Housing Outreach Worker. This full-time role empowers individuals through the Housing First program, ensuring housing stability.
In this impactful position, you will provide client-centered, trauma-informed support to those transitioning into stable housing. Working collaboratively, you'll assess each participant's needs and help them secure protected and affordable accommodations. You’ll liaise with landlords, educate participants on tenant rights, and assist with moving logistics, all while maintaining compliance with YMCA policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct intake and eligibility assessments for participants
• Collaborate with participants to find suitable housing
• Liaise with landlords for viewings and lease agreements
• Educate on tenant responsibilities and budgeting
• Facilitate move-in logistics for clients
Requirements:
• Degree/diploma in Social Work or related field
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with homelessness or mental health
• Valid driver’s license and clear abstract required
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Flexibility for occasional evening/weekend work
