Job Description: Role Overview The TD Global Technology & Services team is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to lead the development, evolution, and adoption of AI-enabled solutions that improve colleague productivity at TD. The Technical Product Owner establishes the product vision, roadmap, outcomes, and prioritized backlog for supported products and capabilities. The role combines strong product management with a practical understanding of PDLC and SDLC workflows, DevSecOps, enterprise integrations, operational risk, and AI-enabled decisioning. Working closely with customers, operations teams, engineering, architecture, business analysts, control partners, and technology delivery teams, the successful candidate will discover operational needs and translate them into valuable, usable, and feasible product capabilities. The successful candidate must understand the operational environment, lead customer research, make evidence-based product decisions, and exercise sound judgement about where AI and automation should be applied to enhance and speed up end-to-end outcomes. Success in the role is measured through customer and colleague outcomes, adoption and sustained use, decision quality, operational effectiveness, product reliability, and measurable business value.
Key Accountabilities PRODUCT Define and champion the product vision, value proposition, roadmap, and measurable outcomes for AI-enabled operational capabilities Connect customer needs, Product Group strategy, operational challenges, technology opportunities, and control requirements into explicit product direction In alignment with the product vision, create and maintain a product backlog and continuously re-prioritize work that will provide the most customer or end user value; Balance near‑term valuewith product scalability, sustainability, integration, and strategic alignment Lead continuous discovery with customers and stakeholders. Develop a deep understanding of user workflows, decision points, pain points, constraints, and unmet needs Use customer feedback, workflow observation, operational data, telemetry, and product analytics to validate problems, test assumptions, shape opportunities, and continuously improve the product Continuously align with senior management on the product delivery roadmap, defined Minimum Marketable Features or Minimum Viable Products and release cadence Proactively engage established business process partners to ensure customers or end users are prepared for application changes and establish Day2 processes Own and prioritize the product roadmap and backlog based on customer value, operational risk, strategic alignment, evidence, feasibility, and dependencies Provide user story design, development and completion oversight; accepting / rejecting user stories based on the agreed upon Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria Work with Business Analysts and Business Systems Analysts to translate product intent into coherent business rules, workflows, functional requirements,
and testable behaviours Manage delivery initiatives and oversee development team (pod) backlogs Proactively raise issues that impede the efficient delivery of customer-focused increments Responsible for defect management and prioritization SHAREHOLDER Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for own business area / journey Ensure on‑going strategic alignment with senior management, providing feedback as appropriate Understand the internal business and technical environment, proactively defining, aligning or integrating with relevant stakeholders, shared services control groups Lead the submission and discussion on the Quarterly Business Review, with respect to their product Proactively manage business stakeholders to obtain inputs needed for product development in a timely manner Monitor the regulatory environment and partner with senior management to consider changes to product strategy as needed Actively coordinate and engage in risk, quality and/or business testing management Empowered to make product delivery decisions, escalating to senior management as appropriate Work cohesively with peers to reinforce Agile processes Compile performance metrics and share with relevant stakeholders Define the OKRs in partnership with numerous stakeholders across the organization Protect the interests of the organization‑ identify and manage risks, and escalate non‑standard, high risk activities as necessary Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite EMPLOYEE / TEAM Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest Align the product team around a shared vision, customer problems, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
