SOAR Community Services is seeking a full-time Crisis Counsellor in Brantford, ON. Emphasizing compassionate care, you'll provide supportive counseling and service access for individuals in need.

This hybrid role focuses on stabilization and assessment within our Mental Health Walk-In Clinic. Candidates should have a college diploma in Human or Social Services and at least two years of experience in mental health or substance use settings. You will advocate for clients and help them develop essential advocacy skills while providing brief solution-focused support.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create a welcoming setting for service access
• Provide single-session counselling using Brief Solution Focused strategies




• Advocate and assist clients in developing self-advocacy skills
• Evaluate information to develop safety plans and recommendations
• Facilitate client referrals to other services

Requirements:
• College diploma in Human or Social Services
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in related clinical settings
• Knowledge of addictions and mental health
• Proficiency in MS Office; EMHware knowledge is an asset
• Reliable transportation for commuting
