Registered Nurse – Permanent Part-Time
Location: Little Current andMindemoya
Starting wage: $41.15 – $58.98 per hour based on experience
POSITION SUMMARY As a member of an inter-professional Health Care team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care to medical/surgical/obstetrical and emergency patients. The RN is also required to provide supervision in the Charge Nurse role as scheduled.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Experience, Licensure)
Required:
Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Minimum of 2 years hospital experience to include cardiac, emergency care and acute care areas
Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or commitment to obtain within 2 months
Completed CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) course; or willingness to obtain
Completed OBS training
Current ACLS certification
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Computer skills with proficiency in
Microsoft office and Meditech applications
Experience in the role of Charge Nurse
Ability to provide regular attendance
Preferred:
Current Certifications: PALS, ATLS/TNCC, palliative care, ECG Interpretation, and other continued nursing education
Ability to function calmly in emergency situations, good public relations skills, valuable rapport with community, medical staff and co-workers, self-directed and motivated, flexible in daily work routines
COMPETENCIES/BEHAVIOURAL Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to engage constructively and promote a positive climate within and across internal and/or external groups/partners.
Service and Quality Orientation: Ability to provide services to customers’ needs in a manner that meets and or exceeds expectations.

Ability to generate new and valuable ideas to develop new or improved processes or services.
COMPETENCIES/TECHNICAL Proficiency in admission/discharge process
Proficiency in medication management
Proficiency in airway/breathing management
Proficiency in circulatory management
Proficiency in neurological management
Proficiency in GI/GU management
Proficiency in EENT management
Proficiency in wound care management
Proficiency in musculoskeletal management
Proficiency in specimen testing
Proficiency in use of safety/emergency devices/equipment
Proficiency in patient transfer
Proficiency in management of death of a patient
Knowledge of infection control and screening
Proficiency in computer software applications – Microsoft Outlook; Meditech Order Entry, Pharmacy, Admitting, PCS, EMR; Up-to-date; Order Sets; Policy and Procedure; LMS; Patient Care Solution
Proficiency in administrative duties
Proficiency in Nurse-in-Charge duties
Nurses shall be selected based on their skill, ability, experience, and qualifications. Where these factors are relatively equal, seniority shall govern.
