School District No. 60 seeks a temporary part-time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing starting September 1, 2026. Contribute to student development and educational participation.
This role fits a qualified educator passionate about supporting students with hearing challenges. You will engage in direct and indirect support, collaborate with teams, and foster an inclusive learning setting. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct support for deaf students' communication skills
• Conduct classroom assessments and management suggestions
• Maintain hearing aids and FM equipment for students
• Guide educational assistants and interpreters effectively
• Liaison with community agencies related to hearing
Requirements:
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate or eligibility
• Experience with inclusive practices in diverse settings
• Master’s degree or willingness to enroll in education
• Strong interpersonal skills with students and families
• Ability to assess educational needs accurately
