Take on a vital role as the Communications Manager with Surrey Schools for an 18-month term. Lead strategic initiatives across corporate, media, and digital communication channels to empower effective messaging.

In this pivotal position, you will report to the Director of Communications and oversee integrated communication functions within the largest school district in BC. Your expertise in media relations, digital strategies, and team leadership will drive success and help enhance the visibility of education programs offered to over 82,000 students in Surrey.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute communications strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Lead the Communications team with coaching, goal setting, and performance management




• Manage media relations and crisis communications for Trustees and Executive team
• Create comprehensive internal communication strategies and support recruitment efforts
• Implement and assess external digital communication campaigns

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in communications or related field
• 10-15 years’ experience in strategic communications
• Solid leadership skills and crisis management expertise
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Public sector experience preferred
