Part time Permanent Housekeeper

Crowsnest Consolidated High School, Coleman

Livingstone Range School Division is accepting applications for a Part-Time Permanent Housekeeper (4 hours per day) at Crowsnest Consolidated High School located in Coleman, AB.

The shift starts after 3:30 pm; Monday to Friday, with the possibility of additional hours in evenings or on weekends.

The applicant must be able to communicate and interact positively with the public, co-workers, staff, and administration to ensure all needs are addressed at the site.

Typical duties of a Housekeeper include but are not limited to: Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting washrooms, fixtures, and partitions

Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting furniture, counters, doors, and other surfaces

Dusting and cleaning windows and window coverings

Operating and maintaining custodial equipment

Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and maintaining floors

Locking doors and windows and securing of Division buildings

Garbage collection and nightly removal

Preventative maintenance – tightening furniture or changing light bulbs

Snow and ice removal from doorways if needed

Housekeeping work may include physical demands, e.g., lifting chairs, moving furniture or boxes of materials, and climbing stairs/ladders.

The daily work routine involves the use of various cleaning chemicals.





This position will report to the Health and Safety Coordinator or designate, the School Head Custodian as well as the School Principal.

The ability to work independently and secure the facilities is essential.

Requirements

Mandatory QualificationsA High School Diploma or equivalent

Additional Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

Demonstrated initiative and good judgement

Ability to build positive relations with staff that values a team environment

Capable of working alone and with minimum supervision

Organize work and adjust daily routine, as conditions require

Capable of performing routine and repetitive tasks daily

Display a valuable working knowledge of all chemicals/procedures used by caretaking staff Fitness and Abilities

Able to stand or walk for extended periods

Able to lift and carry up to 22 kg independently

Able to work in a highly active physical environment

Able to work with a variety of chemicals

Conditions of EmploymentA satisfactory police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment.

This is a Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2133 position; therefore, seniority applies.
