Job Description
Join a well-established commercial fleet repair shop serving transportation providers across the Ottawa region. This role is ideal for a Licensed Automotive Technician with strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills who enjoys diverse, challenging work on commercial and specialty vehicles. You will perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and reliably for their end users.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, drivability, and performance issues

Service brake, steering, suspension, cooling, fuel, and transmission systems

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and safety repairs

Troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems, batteries, charging systems, sensors, and modules

Utilize diagnostic software and scan tools to identify and resolve faults

Service a variety of commercial fleet vehicles, including patient transfer vans, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, buses, diesel vehicles, and commercial service fleets

Essential Skills

Valid 310S Automotive Service Technician License

5+ years of hands-on automotive repair experience

Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities

Experience working with electrical systems, drivability concerns, hvac and modern vehicle technology

Ability to work independently and stay productive in a fast-paced environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working on fleet, commercial, or specialty vehicles such as buses, patient transfer vans, and wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

310T Truck & Coach Technician experience or license is an asset.





Experience with diesel-powered equipment and diesel diagnostics.

Background in commercial fleet maintenance is strongly preferred.

Comfort working on a variety of vehicle platforms and configurations.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment
Work in a busy commercial automotive repair shop specializing in fleet work with steady year-round work on patient transfer vehicles, accessible transportation vans, buses, and commercial fleets. The shop offers a collaborative team environment, modern diagnostic equipment, and hourly pay with no flat-rate or commission structure . Monday to Friday day shift.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ottawa, ON.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.





Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
