Lead the safety culture at the City of Merritt as a Health & Safety Manager. Collaborate with departments to implement safety programs and promote regulatory compliance across the organization.

The Health & Safety Manager will work closely with both supervisory staff and employee groups. Your role will involve analyzing workplace procedures, materials, and equipment to pinpoint potential hazards. Key responsibilities include developing measures to mitigate risks, support emergency management, and guide the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on regulatory compliance for safety policies
• Investigate safety incidents and prepare detailed reports
• Coordinate health and safety projects and initiatives




• Develop and deliver education programs on safety
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations

Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and/or Safety
• Qualified designation like CRSP, ROH, or CIH is an asset
• Experience in public sector operations or union environments is preferred
• Valid BC Class 5 driver's license required
• Satisfactory police information check for designated positions
