Description SMS Equipment is growing inKamloops, BC.We're hiring a Heavy Equipment Technician, 3rd year apprentice to support mining and construction operations in a remote field setting. If you’re a skilled troubleshooter with a safety-first mindset and the ability to work independently, we want to hear from you.
Base Wage : $41.85 per hour. Additional premiums apply.
Location: Kamloops, BC
Schedule: 7x7 (days and nights)
What You’ll Do Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy mining and construction equipment
Perform overhauls, maintenance, and new equipment builds
Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools
Work independently in remote field settings, including adverse weather and confined spaces
Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices
Lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role
What You Bring The successful candidate will be a 3rd Year Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician . Other requirements include:
Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Self-motivated and safety-focused with experience working independently in field conditions.
Experience working with Komatsu equipment is an asset.
