**Job Title: Order Picker**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on accurately picking and building palletized orders in a high-volume refrigerated and frozen food distribution warehouse.

You will use RF scanners and stand-up material handling equipment to collect cases of product, assemble full pallets, and stage them for shipment to downstream distribution centers.
**Responsibilities**
Start each shift by reporting to the meeting board and preparing for daily assignments.

Sign out and operate an RF scanner and designated material handling equipment such as a dock stocker or stand-up forklift.

Review RF scanner instructions to identify assigned locations and pick paths within the warehouse.

Perform case picking based on RF scanner orders, such as collecting specified quantities of meat and frozen products (for example, boxes of bacon or chicken wings).

Build stable, accurate pallets while driving through the warehouse, using proper manual handling techniques to lift and place cases weighing approximately 530 lbs, and up to 50 lbs when required.

Stage completed pallets in the correct locations for outbound shipment and promptly move on to the next RF scanner order.

Maintain productivity and accuracy targets while following established picking procedures and safety guidelines.

Work consistently in refrigerated and freezer areas, adapting to cold temperatures across all seasons.

After approximately 34 months, participate in training on reach trucks to perform high-level case picking and potentially assist with receiving activities.

Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe, and contribute to a bright and collaborative warehouse setting.
**Essential Skills**
6 months of experience operating a Crown reach truck or dock stocker (stand-up forklift).

Previous experience in an order picking role in a warehouse environment.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with regular handling of cases in the 530 lb range.

Comfort working full shifts in refrigerated and freezer environments in all seasons.

Proficiency using RF scanners for order picking and inventory location tracking.

Experience working as a warehouse associate or order picker using stand-up forklifts and dock stockers.

Demonstrated ability to build and stage pallets safely and efficiently.

Commitment to following safety protocols and working effectively in a fast-paced logistics setting.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience with case picking and order picking using warehouse forklifts.

Hands-on experience in high-volume warehouse or logistics operations.

Access to a vehicle is an asset due to the facility location.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a bright, organized environment.

Willingness to learn high-level case picking and receiving tasks on reach trucks after initial training period.

**Work Environment**

Work takes place primarily in refrigerated and freezer areas, with the fridge maintained at approximately 2°C and the freezer at around -15°C.

Employees use RF scanners, stand-up forklifts such as dock stockers and reach trucks, and other standard warehouse equipment to perform case picking and pallet building.

The environment is fast-paced yet structured, with clear processes and safety practices.

Cold-weather gear including jackets, snow pants, hats, and gloves is provided to support comfort in the low temperatures, and steel toe footwear is required, supported by an allowance once permanent.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Puslinch, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.50 - $26.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
