Job Summary
Welding Engineer / Welding Engineering Technologist
Location: 100% remote, Possibility to work from anywhere in USA, within 1.5 hour of a regional airport (preferred location near existing customers)
Headquarters: Occasional visits to headquarters based 8800 Blvd Parent, Trois-Rivières, QC, Canada G9A 5E1
Travel: Must be able and willing to travel within USA, Canada and Overseas up to 40-50%
Schedule: Monday to Friday (the schedule may vary depending on travel requirements)
Immediate Supervisor: Production Director / Senior Welding Engineer

The Welding Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality, hands‑on training programs to customers on the safeand effective operation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ourrobotic welding cell equipment after the initial commissioning phase. TheWelding Engineer acts as a training and technical resource to our end users, aswell as to other departments. There are threemain aspects to the role:
Provide technical support to end users (remote and on-site,
including welding database, weld procedure development, etc.)
Provide technical assistance to sales team and other departments at AGT Robotics
Main Responsibilities
DeliverPost-Commissioning Training: Conduct on-site andpotentially virtual training sessions for customers who have recently had theirrobotic welding cells commissioned. This includes, but is not limited to:
Advancedoperation and programming techniques.
Preventativemaintenance procedures and schedules.
Basic andadvanced troubleshooting methodologies.
Safety protocolsand best practices specific to the installed equipment.
Softwareinterface and data management.
Optionalfeatures and advanced functionalities.
Develop andMaintain Training Materials: Create, update, andmaintain comprehensive training materials, including:
Online Training& operation manuals
Hands‑onexercises and practical assessments
Video tutorialsand online resources
Quick referenceguides and troubleshooting tips
Provide remoteSupport: Serve as a technical resource forcustomers post-training, addressing questions and providing clarification onequipment operation and maintenance. Diagnosing and improving welding qualityat customer sites and supporting the commissioning of recent systems
Collaboratewith Internal Teams: Work closely with the Sales,Engineering, Commissioning, and Service departments to ensure a smooth customerexperience. Provide feedback on product usability and potential training needsbased on customer interactions.
Travel: Be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally tocustomer sites.
AdministrativeTasks:
Complete administrative tasks related totraining delivery, including scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
Requirements and Qualifications
Associate's orBachelor's degree in a Welding Engineering Technology, combined with a minimumof 5 years experience.
Knowledge ofstructural steel fabrication.
Provenexperience in operating, programming, and maintaining robotic welding systems.
Demonstratedexperience in delivering technical training or presentations, preferably in anindustrial or manufacturing environment.
Strongunderstanding of welding processes and applications.
Excellentcommunication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability toexplain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Proficiency inusing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability totroubleshoot technical issues and explain solutions effectively.
Strongorganizational and time management skills.
Ability to workindependently and as part of a team.
