Stirling Marathon is seeking a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Technician to support ongoing repair and improvement projects in our factory. This is a casual/contract position, ideal for a semi-retired tradesperson, skilled handyperson, or someone simply looking to stay busy with meaningful work in a supportive, industrial environment. You'll be working on a variety of mechanical, structural, and utility-related tasks that keep our operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities Build assembly jigs to support production processes
Set up and operate a surface grinder to sharpen tooling punches
Adjust and maintain conveyor belts on the production line
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment including assembly stations, strapping machines, roll-up doors, loading docks, air compressors, and other machinery as required
Install lighting in assembly areas
Install air hoses, nozzles, and air lines as needed
Complete general maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience Millwright certification is considered an asset
Experience working with PLC systems is an asset
Strong mechanical aptitude or general maintenance experience
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Ability to diagnose and resolve common facility and equipment issues
Welding, fabrication, or light machining experience is an asset
Familiarity with industrial equipment and compressed air systems is an advantage
Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to maintaining a safe work workplace
Terms of Employment This is a casual position, with work offered as projects and needs arise
Flexible hours: schedule can be arranged to suit both parties
Compensation to be discussed based on experience and availability
