The District of Summerland has an excellent chance for a highly skilled Engineering Technician II. This position provides technical support and manages infrastructure improvement projects (development and capital), coordinates infrastructure capacity analysis assessments, reviews design submissions, develops conceptual designs of municipal services, prepares technical reports, and assists in establishing programs, policies and procedures relating to operating functions of the department.
What You Bring
Knowledge of municipal engineering, infrastructure, land development, surveying, drafting, construction practices, and applicable standards and regulations.
The ability to interpret and apply municipal bylaws, engineering standards,



policies, and procedures.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly and work effectively with employees, contractors, agencies, and the public.
Experience with project planning and management, including contract documents, cost estimates, and preliminary budgets.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, Microsoft Office, and other relevant computer applications.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate, efficient work and manage multiple priorities.
Required Qualifications
Senior Secondary School education supplemented by completion of two-year program in civil engineering technology.
Minimum of five years related municipal/civil engineering experience.
Applied Science Technologist Certificate with ASTTBC.
Valid BC Driver's License - Class 5
This is a CUPE position, and the full rate of pay is $50.25 per hour along with a competitive benefits package and pension.
