Enhance your research skills as an Anthropological Student Research Assistant at Douglas College. Collaborate with diverse groups while assisting in ethnographic and oral historical research on Líĺwat Territory.
Douglas College is seeking a Student Research Assistant to support faculty and community partners in conducting research. You will engage in transcription, data entry, and compiling historical information under the supervision of project leads. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in Archaeology or Anthropology, particularly Indigenous cultures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Transcribe and edit audio interviews for analysis
• Enter data from transcripts into ethnographic databases
• Compile oral historical information for project reports
• Assist in conducting fieldwork in Líĺwat Territory
• Collaborate with faculty and community partners on research projects
Requirements:
• Completed Introduction to Archaeology (ANTH 1112)
• Enrollment in a minimum of one 3-credit course at Douglas College
• Strong interest in research and collaboration
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures is an asset
• Commitment to maintaining academic standing
