Elevate patient care as a Respiratory Therapist II at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. Your expertise in airway management and anesthesia equipment will be essential in the operating room and recovery units.
In this vital role, you will provide quality respiratory therapy to patients during and after surgical procedures. Coordinating services, you will manage therapy assessment and treatment while maintaining high standards of care. Additionally, you will administer blood products and assist with EBUS procedures, all while training students and current staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage airway and ventilation protocols during surgeries
• Perform ABG procurement and interpretation
• Assist in anesthesia procedures and maintain equipment
• Support training and orientation of new staff
• Participate in data collection for anesthesia studies
Requirements:
• Active registration with College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta
• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• 2-3 years of experience in a tertiary teaching hospital
• Certifications in intubation and arterial line insertion
• Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider certification
