Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to support a major capital project through engineering, construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, this individual will serve as the technical lead for all rotating equipment, providing oversight of EPC contractor deliverables and ensuring equipment is properly selected, designed, installed, and commissioned for long-term operational reliability.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering contractors, vendors, construction teams, and operations stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

This role will support major equipment packages including compressors, pumps, steam turbines, fans, blowers, and air coolers, while also contributing to asset care and reliability strategies for project turnover.

This is a 6 month, hybrid contract opportunity with the potential of conversion to full time or extension.

Preference to candidates residing in Regina with secondary preference to Calgary.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as the technical lead for all rotating equipment packages across the project.
• Review and provide technical oversight of:
○ Compressor packages
○ Pump packages
○ Steam turbines
○ Air coolers
○ Fans and blowers
○ Vendor documentation and inspection reports
• Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor meetings, equipment selection reviews, and technical clarification discussions.
• Review engineering deliverables, equipment specifications, requisitions, drawings, and procurement packages prepared by the EPC contractor.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT),



performance testing, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Collaborate with construction, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure successful equipment installation and turnover.
• Develop rotating equipment reliability and asset care strategies to support long-term operations.
• Provide technical support during field execution and commissioning activities.
• Support multidisciplinary mechanical reviews and leverage broader mechanical knowledge where required.

Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Canadian-accredited or equivalent institution.
• P.

Eng. designation with APEGA, APEGS, or eligibility for registration.
• 8+ years of experience in rotating equipment engineering within heavy industrial environments.
• Strong technical expertise with:
○ Compressors
○ Multi-stage high-pressure pumps
○ Steam turbines
○ Gas turbines
○ Fans and blowers
○ Air coolers
• Experience with rotating equipment design, specification, selection, installation, and commissioning.
• Ability to review and evaluate vendor proposals, technical packages, and engineering deliverables.
• Experience supporting large capital projects in industries such as:
○ Refining




○ Petrochemical
○ Chemical Processing
○ Oil & Gas
○ Power Generation
○ Industrial Manufacturing
• Strong understanding of equipment reliability, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
• Owner's Engineer or Owner's Representative experience.
• EPC project execution experience.
• Carbon capture or CO₂ compression project experience.
• Previous experience with asset integrity and asset care strategy development.
• Broader mechanical engineering experience involving:
○ Pressure vessels
○ Piping systems
○ Heat exchangers
• FAT, SAT, startup, and operational readiness experience.
• Experience working with major rotating equipment manufacturers or OEMs.
