The candidate must plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS), or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
The candidate must respond to customer complaints or concerns.
The candidate must have experience driving in mountainous areas.
The candidate must maintain a skilled demeanour in customer service.
The candidate must arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations.
The candidate must drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
The candidate must load and unload goods.
The candidate must obtain special permits and other documents required for international cargo transport.
The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.
The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
The candidate must be able to perform emergency roadside repairs.
The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
The candidate must perform preventive maintenance.




The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
The candidate will be responsible for tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo.
Job Requirements The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
The employer will provide training to the selected candidate.
The candidate must have a Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
The candidate must be well-organized.
The candidate should be reliable.
The candidate should be a good team player.
Work setting The candidate must be able to work in multiple locations to support employees stationed at various worksites.
Documentation knowledge The candidate must be knowledgeable about bill of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip) and maintenance and repair reports.
Type of trucking and equipment The candidate must have experience operating flatbed trucks.
The candidate will be responsible for operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigational equipment.
Transportation/travel experience The candidate must have experience with long-haul transportation and travel.
Security and safety The candidate must undergo a criminal record check and a driving record check (abstract).
Work conditions and physical capabilities The candidate must manage a large workload.
The candidate should be willing to work overtime if necessary.
The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in a sitting position.
