About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Addiction Counsellor to support individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction in Kimberley . This role utilizes a hybrid model, combining remote therapeutic sessions with essential in-person support and group facilitation. You will play a vital role in helping clients overcome addiction, develop coping mechanisms, and rebuild their lives. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to recovery and well-being within the Northern Cape community, working within a supportive and professional framework.
Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of substance abuse patterns and co-occurring mental health issues.
Develop and implement individualized treatment and recovery plans.
Provide individual and group counseling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
Offer crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing withdrawal or acute distress.
Educate clients and their families on addiction,
recovery processes, and relapse prevention strategies.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records and progress reports.
Requirements Relevant qualification in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
Professional registration with a recognized counseling body (e.g., HPCSA).
Proven experience in addiction counseling or substance abuse treatment.
Strong knowledge of addiction dynamics, treatment modalities, and recovery principles.
Excellent communication, empathy, and motivational interviewing skills.
