Express Employment Professionals Guelph is recruiting a General Accountant for an established and growing organization in Guelph. Years of experience trump a designation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working across the accounting cycle rather than being limited to one narrow function.
Working closely with the Controller, the General Accountant will have hands‑on responsibility for month‑end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial schedules and day‑to‑day accounting activities.
An accounting designation is not required. We are looking for strong practical accounting experience, manufacturing exposure, accuracy and someone who takes ownership of their work.
What You’ll Be Doing Play an active role in month‑end and year‑end close
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts
Complete monthly balance sheet and credit card reconciliations
Prepare monthly financial schedules and supporting documentation for financial statements
Review transactions for accuracy, completeness and appropriate coding
Assist the Controller with day‑to‑day accounting and financial activities
Provide backup support for Accounts Payable
Monitor Accounts Receivable balances and assist with collections as required




Process and distribute customer invoices and ensure billing accuracy
Assist with payroll schedules and related accounting activities
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
Prepare supporting documentation for external auditors and government filings
Investigate discrepancies and assist with resolving accounting issues
Maintain accurate, organized and audit‑ready financial records
Provide additional accounting and financial support as required
Travel with team members to other plants
REQUIRED Qualifications To succeed:
3–5 years of hands‑on accounting experience
Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience with month‑end close
Strong experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries and reconciliations
Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Robust Microsoft Excel skills
Experience working with accounting and financial systems
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines
Ability to work independently, take ownership and collaborate effectively with the Controller and broader team
Dayforce experience is considered an asset.
CPA or other accounting designation is NOT required.
Compensation & Benefits Salary: $75,000 to $80,000 annually
