The Opportunity:
The Ministry of Health, Population Health Branch has a permanent opportunity for a professional, collaborative and results-oriented individual who has excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills to provide strategic policy and financial support to the Branch.
Reporting to the Director of Health Promotion and Central Policy Support, the Strategic Planning and Policy Officer is accountable to provide analysis, advice, and leadership to the Branch and Ministry on a range of public health program planning and policy issues, financial management, accountability, and reporting. Working within a team workplace, you will be an excellent communicator with the demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple projects that involve stakeholders with varying interests.
This position is responsible for developing program and financial performance metrics and establishing reporting methods to ensure accountability.



This includes budget development, forecasting and monitoring; contract management; and the preparation and coordination of a variety of financial and programmatic business cases and reports. This position is also responsible for research, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, policies and procedures.
You will monitor program trends, collect, interpret and analyze data and provide advice to senior management to inform Branch decision-making and strategic policy. You will apply your expertise and problem-solving skills in the leadership and development of branch projects related to strategic and operational planning, organizational effectiveness, program and policy development, evaluation and change management.
