Become a pivotal team member at Halifax Water as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. This full time role involves managing water treatment plants and equipment maintenance on 12-hour shifts, ensuring public safety and compliance.

As a Water Treatment Plant Operator in the Operations department, you will work closely with your supervisor to maintain treatment plants and perform vital equipment upkeep. This position requires a minimum of a two-year technical program in Water Treatment, or a combination of education and experience. You must also complete the Operator-in-Training Water Treatment Certificate within six months and pass the Level 1 exam within one year.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain water treatment facilities




• Perform maintenance on pumping stations and associated equipment
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Assist in emergency water supply management
• Work 12-hour shifts as assigned

Requirements:
• Minimum two-year technical program in Water Treatment
• Equivalent experience may be considered
• Must obtain Operator-in-Training certification
• Valid NS driver’s license required
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance
