Job Description
Election Technicians to support the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of election technology throughout British Columbia.

This position combines technical support with front-line customer service, as technicians will frequently interact with voters, election staff, and members of the public to ensure a smooth and professional voting experience.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with technology, assisting patrons, answering questions, and representing Smartmatic in a qualified and courteous manner.
- Set up, test, configure, and deploy voting equipment and election technology
- Provide technical troubleshooting and operational support for election systems
- Assist voters and patrons as they arrive at voting locations
- Answer general questions and provide directions regarding voting processes and procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and patience in high-traffic environments
- Support election staff with both technical and operational needs
- Monitor equipment performance and quickly resolve hardware, software, or connectivity issues
- Record and document technical incidents and resolutions
- Assist with equipment inventory, transportation, deployment, and recovery activities
- Follow all election security, confidentiality, and operational procedures
- Ensure voting locations remain organized, welcoming, and operational throughout election events
Skills and Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Previous experience in customer-facing, technical support, field service, retail,



hospitality, or operational support roles
- Comfortable working directly with members of the public
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and patient in busy environments
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn current technology quickly
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move equipment as required
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work onsite

This person should be equally comfortable troubleshooting a device and assisting a patron who has questions when arriving at a polling location.
