Job Title: Journeyman WelderJoin a dedicated welding team focused on fabricating natural gas compression equipment, including skids, vessels, and piping. You will interpret drawings, perform high‑quality flux core welding, and use cranes to assemble complete compression systems in a clean, organized fabrication environment. This role also involves supporting general facility needs and collaborating with other trades as required.ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints to understand specifications and welding requirements.Perform flux core (FCAW) welding on skids, vessels, piping, and structural components in a fabrication shop environment.Fabricate and assemble natural gas compression equipment and related structures according to project standards.Use overhead cranes and related lifting equipment safely to position and assemble large components and systems.Assemble compression systems and subassemblies, ensuring accuracy, fit, and overall quality.Inspect welds and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to codes and internal standards.Maintain a clean and organized work area, following shop safety procedures and housekeeping expectations.Support other trades and team members as needed, including assisting with general tasks and odd jobs around the facility.Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures, including participation in orientation and ongoing safety practices.Collaborate with a buddy and broader team during initial training, then work independently while keeping strong communication with supervisors and peers.Essential SkillsJourneyman‑level welder with proven experience in a fabrication setting.Valid CWB Fluxcore (FCAW)



ticket.Demonstrated skid welding experience in a shop setting.Welding and fabrication of structural components and assemblies.Proficiency in flux core welding processes for structural and pressure‑related components.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication blueprints accurately.Hands‑on experience operating cranes and lifting equipment in a fabrication or industrial environment.Experience with mechanical assembly of equipment and systems.Ability to work full‑time on a first‑shift schedule, Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.M. to 4:30 p.M.Additional Skills & QualificationsDevelopment or experience in another skilled trade is an asset.Comfort working in a busy fabrication shop environment with multiple teams and projects.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality welds and assemblies.Ability to work overtime when required, including extended daily hours.Reliable transportation to a non‑transit‑accessible industrial location.Why Work Here?You will work in a clean, well‑organized shop that supports high‑quality craftsmanship and safe operations. The position is based in an industrial area near Balzac/Rockyview, east of a major shopping mall, and is not accessible by public transit, so reliable personal transportation is necessary. You will work on a clean, organized shop floor alongside a growing team of approximately 60 employees. The facility focuses on manufacturing gas compression systems for oil and gas applications and uses cranes and other industrial equipment for fabrication and assembly.
