Intent of the process
The immediate intent of this process is to staff three (3) indeterminate TI-06 positions at the Vancouver International Airport location. A pool of qualified and/or partially assessed candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various locations (Calgary International Airport, Edmonton International Airport, Vancouver International Airport) within Transport Canada.

ASSESSMENT – VOLUME MANAGEMENT : Invoking asset qualifications, a top-down approach, along with other strategies can be applied at any stage in the staffing process to identify which applications will be given further consideration.
PROOF OF EDUCATION : Candidates will be required to provide proof of education as part of this selection process. Candidates with foreign educational credentials are required to provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Conditions of employment
Secret security clearance
Satisfactory completion of a Health Canada Category III pre-employment medical examination and periodic medical evaluations. (This may include visual, auditory and physical evaluations.)
Required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Required to perform stand-by duties on a 24/7 basis
Required to travel on short notice for extended periods regionally, domestically and internationally using all modes of transportation
Required to work overtime and/or irregular hours as assigned including on short notice
Able to obtain and maintain a valid passport for international travel as required
Operational Requirements
Willing and able to obtain and maintain an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP)
Willing and able to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
Ability and willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally by various modes of transport
Willing and able to drive for long distances in all weather conditions
Willing and able to travel alone to isolated and remote locations
Willing and able to work in and around airport and cargo facility environments, including remote and industrial locations
Willing and able to climb structures and equipment on sites where the access is difficult and the terrain rugged, on occasion when required
Willing and able to work around animals and in funeral home environments
Willing and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Willing and able to handle explosive material and prohibited items as defined in the Criminal Code
You need (essential for the job)
EDUCATION : ED: Graduation with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or acceptable combination of a secondary school diploma and/or training and relevant experience.
Experience in understanding, interpreting, and applying legislation or policies
Experience in preparing written documents such as correspondence, reports and/or briefings
Experience in conducting inspections, investigations, or audits, which includes conducting interviews and gathering evidence
Experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with internal or external stakeholders
Experience in providing advice or recommendations to clients or management
Experience working in aviation, including operational, regulatory, infrastructure, or service delivery environments.* Experience is defined as the depth and breadth associated with having performed a wide range of varied and complex activities, typically acquired over a period of 2 or more years. The number, complexity, and diversity of tasks on a regular basis, as well as the level of autonomy, will be taken into account

EDUCATION : AED: Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with specialization relevant to the fields of aviation.
Professional security designation or experience in law enforcement
Experience in enforcement activities, such as imposing enforcement action
Experience in conducting administrative or penal investigations
Experience in emergency management
Experience in project management
Experience in monitoring and coordinating investigations
Experience in monitoring and coordinating inspections
