Reports To: Production Supervisor
Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our client's production team. The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery in a safe and efficient manner to ensure high-quality production. The ideal candidate should have Machine Operator experience, mechanical aptitude, a robust work ethic, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate various types of machinery (e.g., rotary die cutters, flat bed die cutters, roll slicers and a flash cutter) according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
Set up machines before production and perform test runs to ensure proper functioning.
Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet ISO 9001 quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of equipment.
Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to meet production goals.
Report malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Load and unloading material from machines, warehouse and trailers.
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
Proven experience as a machine operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
Ability to read drawings or work instructions (if applicable).
Ability to read and understand measurement devices
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Good time management skills
Good physical condition and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Work hours 8:30 am – 5:00pm.
Punctuality and attendance are vital
Preferred Skills:
Working knowledge of CNC machinery programming or programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Forklift certification is a plus
Relevant equipment training.
Experience in working with non-metallic materials such as closed and open cell foams, silicones, felts, etc
