MOLD TECHNICIAN Shift: Employee will train on the day shift (6:50 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) for six weeks and will then permanently transfer to the afternoon shift (2:50 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.).
Objective Support production initiatives with mold cleaning and maintenance
Responsibilities Main Tasks Remove and replace molds in presses, including maintenance and storage
Perform and record preventative maintenance items on tooling as directed
Minor troubleshooting and recommend process improvement related to quality of product
Identify and communicate mold/machine issues to Process Technicians, Shift Supervisor, and Maintenance
Follow startup procedures for removing and replacing molds
Ice blast, media blast, drill pots, and replacing vaccuum seal
General Tasks (if relevant) Perform daily shop inspections and preventative maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance on injection mold tooling
General housekeeping: maintain cleanliness of work areas
Qualifications/ Requirements/ Competencies High school diploma
Crane/Scissor Lift/Reach Lift Truck certification and experience preferred
1 to 2 years experience in a manufacturing workplace with some knowledge of robots is an asset
Specifications High degree of mechanical aptitude and mechanical experience
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and comprehension)
Ability to lift approximately 20 to 70 lbs intermittently, pushing and pulling 300 to 400 lbs
