About the Role Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Sustainable Design Architect to join their team in Kimberley . This role is dedicated to integrating environmentally responsible design principles and practices into all architectural projects. You will research, propose, and implement sustainable strategies, materials, and technologies to minimize environmental impact and enhance building performance. The ideal candidate is passionate about green building initiatives, possesses a strong understanding of sustainability certifications like Green Star or LEED, and is keen to contribute to creating resilient and eco-friendly built environments in the Northern Cape.
Key Responsibilities Lead the integration of sustainable design strategies into architectural projects from concept to completion.
Conduct energy modeling, life cycle assessments, and environmental impact analyses.
Research and specify sustainable materials, systems, and technologies.
Assist project teams in achieving desired sustainability ratings and certifications (e.g., Green Star).
Develop design solutions that optimize energy efficiency, water conservation, and indoor environmental quality.




Stay updated on the latest advancements in sustainable architecture and green building practices.
Requirements Professional degree in Architecture or a related discipline, with SACAP registration.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with a demonstrable focus on sustainable design principles.
Knowledge of sustainability rating tools such as Green Star SA or LEED.
Proficiency in energy modeling software and lifecycle assessment tools.
Robust understanding of passive design strategies, renewable energy systems, and green building materials.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, essential for educating teams and clients in Kimberley .
