Senior Compliance Specialist - 1.5-Year Contract

Contract: 1.5 years

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist for a 1.5-year contract to support the Compliance Office and provide leave coverage. The successful candidate will help manage enterprise-wide compliance programs, regulatory requirements, monitoring and testing, risk assessments, and regulatory filings while partnering closely with business units across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the annual Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) cycle, working with business units to complete compliance activities and address identified risks.
- Support the enterprise compliance program, including compliance inquiries, incidents, conflicts of interest, gifts & entertainment, and compliance communications.
- Develop and execute the annual compliance monitoring and testing plan, assessing regulatory controls and identifying potential risks.
- Manage regulatory filings, insurer licensing, broker sponsorship due diligence, and regulatory reporting across applicable jurisdictions.
- Support regulatory readiness, including assessing and documenting organizational readiness for new or changing requirements.
- Coordinate annual compliance risk assessments and attestations with business unit leaders and Compliance Officers.




- Maintain compliance records, controls, mitigation plans and reporting within OnSpring, including KPI/KRI dashboards.
- Deliver compliance education, workshops and communications to business stakeholders.

Stakeholder Relationships

Work closely with Business Unit Compliance Officers, Business Unit Heads, Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit, Legal, Security, Data Governance, Procurement and other internal teams, as well as regulators, external auditors, legal counsel and consultants.

Requirements:

Qualifications

- 3-5+ years of compliance experience, ideally within the P&C; insurance industry.
- Robust knowledge of regulatory requirements and the ability to interpret and apply them to business operations.
- Experience with compliance programs, regulatory risk assessments, monitoring/testing and regulatory reporting.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication, writing, editing and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with OnSpring is an asset.
- CIP or CRM designation is an asset.
