Aboutthe Role

The Microbiologist will be responsible for completing the day-to-day tasks assigned; this embraces routine microbiological testing including: sterility testing, growth promotion, bioburden testing, microbial identification, and other tests according to the USP and EP.

What YouWill Do

- Conductroutinemicrobiologicaltestingincluding:sterilitytesting,growthpromotion,bioburdentesting,microbialidentification,andothertestsaccordingtotheUSPandEP.
- Conductpeerreviewoflaboratoryrecords.
- ConductroutineenvironmentalmonitoringofcleanroomsaccordingtoSOPs.
- Beresponsibleforthemaintenanceofthe Atom VieMicrobiology Laboratoryaccordingto Health CanadaGMPs,includingrecords,procedures,disposalofwaste,materials,equipment,androutineoperations.
- Supportcalibration/maintenanceof Microbiologyequipment.
- Conductinventoryandmanagementofmicrobiologicalmaterials.
- Assistintheclosureof Change Controls,Non-Conformances,InvestigationsandCAPAsasspecifiedintheSOPs.
- Supportinvestigationsfor Microrelatedfailuresandnon-conformances.




- Assistinthewritingoftechnicaldocuments,customerandinternalreports,SOPs,protocols.
- Supportthe Media Fillprogram.
- Understandandworkunderthe Health CanadaGMPrequirementsforsterilepharmaceuticalsandthe Annextothe Good Manufacturing Practices Guidelines Good Manufacturing Practices(GMP)for Positron Emitting Radiopharmaceuticals(
- Plan,implement,andsuccessfullycompleteassignedtasksinatimelyfashionensuringconsistenthighquality.
- Conductinvestigationsfortestingfailureandnon-conformancesandimplementcorrectiveactions.
- AdheretoGMPregulationsbymaintainingcompleterecordspertainingtoallaspectsofmicrobiologicaltesting,routineoperations,andequipmentmaintenance
- Understandandworkunderthe Health CanadaandFDAGMPrequirementsforsterilepharmaceuticals.
- Understandandworkunderthe Canadian Nuclear Safety Commissionregulations.
- Ensurecompliancewith Healthand Safetyforallpolicies,proceduresandregulationsapplicabletotheirwork.
- Completeallotherdutiesasrequired.

What You Bring to the Role

- Proficiencywithspreadsheets(e.g. Excel,Google Sheets),andabilitytowritetechnicaldocumentsandreports.
- Goodcommunicationskills(in English)andabilitytoworkbothindependentlyandcooperativelyinateamenvironment.




- ExperienceinapharmaceuticalcGMPenvironment,experiencein Aseptic Operations,Cleanrooms,and Biosafety Containment Level2lab,andworkingunder Canadian Nuclear Safety Commissionregulationsareassetsinthisrole.

Requirements

- B. Sc.in Microbiologyorarelatedfield.
- 1to3yearsofrelatedexperiencein Microbiologicaltestingsuchas Growth Promotion,Bioburden,Environmental Monitoring,Sterilityand/or Bacterial Endotoxin.
- This position requires shift work and alternating weekends.
- Abilitytoliftandmoveheavyweightsupto23kilogramsisrequired.

Compensation:

Annual salary starts at $58k. Compensation is based on relevant industry experience, academic credentials, and qualifications.
