We Are Hiring: Maintenance Staff

We are currently looking for exceptional Maintenance Staff member to join us as we build out a unique and exciting contemporary hospitality offering in Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) and Ontario.

About the Role

Freshly renovated and newly redesigned, The Woodbourne Inn, The South Landing Inn and The Kent Motel are currently looking for a talented and detail-oriented part-time Mainenance person who shares the passion and values of the Sweetwater Hospitality Group: authenticity, excellence, beauty, positive engagement and responsibility.

The maintenance of the property plays a core role in the full guest experience. Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining our high standard of repair and care for interior, exterior, guest rooms, public areas, and grounds of the properties.
We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic and passionate about a high standard of repair, cleanliness, and organization. We are a small and strong group, looking for a fast learner who can work well and contribute to our growing team.

Hourly position starting at $20/hour.

Potential for full time for the right candidate.

Maintenance

- Ensure the a high standard of repair to the interior and exterior of the buildings. Including in guest rooms, service areas, gardens & public spaces
- Prioritize maintenance issues that are time sensitive or affect guests
- Address regular repair and maintenance of the building
- Follow monthly and annual tasks and preventative duties for equipment and building
- Coordinate and liaison with contractors on jobs that require specialists




- Comply with and uphold all department policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Follow and proactively promote all health and safety policies and initiatives
- Report all concerns related to the General Manager

Guest Service

- Light daily property maintenance, as needed (sweeping off patios, placement of flowers, ensuring premises are tidy and well kept, etc.)
- Interacting with guests and addressing any guest questions or concerns if approached
- Bringing any significant questions or concerns to the team
- Respond to urgent requests or issues that may arise outside of regular working hours

Candidates will:

- Have previous experience working in a hotel and / or hospitality environment
- The capacity to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Stand or walk for an extended time period
- Be flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- You are organized and have strong time management and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, honest, creative, capable of working in a team environment

and have a passion for promoting the culture and brand, of the Sweetwater Group
- Be able to multi-task with flexibility in hours in a demanding setting with high expectations for quality of service
- Be a demonstrated team player that can work collaboratively with other staff who share a passion for the business and what it stands for

With new renovations, and well-established staff, policies, and procedures in place -- yet a vision not-yet-fully-realized and plenty of opportunity for growth -- we are currently looking to augment the maintenance team as we build out a unique and exciting contemporary hospitality offering in Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL).

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
