This is a Term 12 position.

Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

The Department of Computing Science invites applications for a full-time Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) member to teach courses in our Data Science program. The list of courses the ATS member may be required to teach includes:

- CMPUT 174 - Introduction to the Foundations of Computing I
- CMPUT 175 - Introduction to the Foundations of Computing II
- CMPUT 191 - Introduction to Data Science
- CMPUT 195 - Introduction to Principles and Techniques of Data Science
- CMPUT 200 - Responsible Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
- CMPUT 291 - Introduction to File and Database Management

CMPUT Courses For context about these courses, see information about the Bachelor of Science – Data Science Subject Area. Other courses and related duties may be considered as conditions change, and depending on the qualifications of the candidate.

Teaching courses during the Winter, Spring, and Fall terms in 2027.

The appointment requires a M.Sc. degree in a closely related discipline to data science or computing science. Successful teaching experience, especially in the context of data-science oriented courses, is an asset.
