Position Overview

We’re looking for a dynamic and personable accountant to join our growing team at our office in Toronto. The role reports directly to the CEO. If you are a quick learner, love challenges, and crave a fun and dynamic tech environment, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities and tasks

Responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

- Design and implement accounting reporting procedures for internal and external reporting needs.
- Prepare periodic reporting/invoicing packages for clients, ensuring integrity and transparency of the systems.
- Implement and improve the full-cycle accounting procedures for periodic internal/external reporting needs using the finance system.
- Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages to support decision making.
- Prepare forecasting and budgeting for all relevant business lines.
- Perform month end duties to ensure transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and proper controls are in place.




- Closely follow and record the transactions throughout the development of products.
- Provide financial analysis and suggestions to assist the expansion of the business.
- Ad-hoc duties as required (special projects).
- Prepare, review, and issue weekly bank and transaction reconciliation reports for key insurance clients.
- Manage ongoing client communication and address reporting inquiries, discrepancies, or audit requests.
- Investigate and resolve payment errors, missing transactions, and cheque processing discrepancies.
- Provide leadership, direct mentorship, and task delegation to junior accounting team members.

Qualifications (Required)

- Outstanding command of the English Language - written and spoken
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in accounting
- Strong computer skills
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a similar role
- Experience using Quickbooks
- Advanced excel skills
- Robust attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Time management skills
- A great ‘can do’ attitude
- Resourceful, sharp, friendly, quick-thinking and empathetic should be some of the adjectives used to describe the candidate

Pay: $65,000.00-$86,000.00 per year
