Our programs give children and other members of the community the opportunity to learn about, care for and interact with a variety of animals in a secure, engaging and educational environment.

And the best part? Our animal team is made up of rescued pets who have found a loving home with us while helping inspire the next generation of animal lovers!

We are looking for a full time, permanent team memberwho wants to grow with Pawsitively Pets and become an important part of our year-round programming team.

What You'll Be Doing:

This is definitely not a sit-behind-a-desk, Monday to Friday kind of job!

Your days will be active, hands-on and varied. Depending on the day, you might be leading an animal presentation in a school, teaching children at one of our Toronto locations, running an after-school program, hosting a birthday party or community event, or caring for our animals.

As part of our team, you will:

- Lead fun, interactive and educational animal programs for children and community groups.
- Present programs in schools, classrooms, camps, after-school programs, birthday parties and special events.
- Introduce participants to a variety of animals while teaching responsible pet ownership, animal care and respect for animals.
- Provide care for our animal team.
- Help create memorable, positive experiences for the children and families in our programs.
- Assist with specialized programming, including school presentations, community events and pet therapy visits.
- Work both independently and alongside a fun, supportive team.
- Help with program preparation, organization and animal-related responsibilities.
- Participate in comprehensive training in Pawsitively Pets programming, animal handling and animal care.

Qualifications & Requirements: To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with children in a camp, recreation, education, childcare, after-school or similar setting.
- Completed or in-progress diploma or degree in an animal-, education-, recreation-, child- or youth-related field.
- Strong English communication and presentation skills; French is an asset but not required.
- The physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- The ability to work from both of our Toronto locations, including our Midtown and Beaches sites.
- Availability to regularly work Saturdays and Sundays.
- Our program is a booking-based business; daily shifts will vary and are 7-9 hours long between the hours of 7am - 9pm, depending on the booking schedule.
- A valid First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
- The ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.




- Drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle you can use for work each day to transport the animal team to programs and events.

Driving Requirement: Because our programs take place throughout the community, a valid Ontario Class G driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required for this position. Animals cannot be transported on public transportation or via Uber. This is a mandatory requirement for the position.

Team members use their vehicles for work-related travel between locations and programs. A car allowance is provided for work-related travel.
