Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Requires formal education in Architecture, demonstrated through a master’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or Diploma in Architecture; or a degree in Urban Planning, Construction Management, or Civil / Structural Engineering.
Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects, including project management and coordination of multidisciplinary design activities.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Professional certifications and registrations such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP), Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) registration, or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation are considered assets.
Thorough knowledge of Canadian building codes, accessibility standards,
and life-safety principles as they apply to public infrastructure and facilities.
Demonstrated proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and industry-standard design software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and associated design coordination and collaboration workflows.
Advanced knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with the ability to manage complex projects from concept through implementation.
Robust interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build credibility and foster effective partnerships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience resolving complex design, technical, and project delivery challenges.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple concurrent projects and competing deadlines.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, present recommendations, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Other Information
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week.
Work Designation
Hybrid This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.
Rate of Pay
The salary for this position ranges from $91,840 - $137,760 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role. We aim to provide competitive pay that reflects your professional background and expertise. We want to ensure our offer will align with your strengths considering experience, skills, and internal equity to offer a fair and equitable salary. The Total Compensation Package, which includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan as well as other employment offerings will be discussed in detail as your application progresses.
