Tiverton Park Manor & Huron Shores Hospice is a Retirement Community providing assisted living to our 46 residents in a friendly, modern, homelike atmosphere, as well as Hospice Palliative care to up to 3 residents of Huron Shores Hospice, located in our residence.
Join our agile team as an Associate Director of Care, where your leadership and expertise will drive excellence in senior care services. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care within our retirement & assisted living environment. Your energetic approach will inspire staff, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and foster a warm, supportive atmosphere for residents and their families.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide leadership and guidance to care staff, overseeing daily operations to ensure the delivery of safe, effective care to residents
- Implement, update & evaluate care plans for residents
- Oversee admissions and end-of-life care in the Huron Shores Hospice suites
- Supervise and mentor caregiving teams, fostering a positive work environment that encourages qualified growth.
- Manage staffing schedules
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to senior care facilities.
- Oversee medication administration processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Work closely with Director of Care, General Manager, Attending Physicians, Food Services and Activity/Recreation.
- Work on a rotating On-call schedule and cover services during instances of staffing shortages.

Requirements
- Proven experience in Retirement Home or Long-Term Care settings with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Familiarity with regulations under the RHRA, MOL, and OHSA a strong asset
- Robust background in nursing or senior care, including dementia care and medication management.
- Supervising experience with a track record of motivating and guiding teams effectively.
- Experience and an passion in palliative care an asset
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with residents, families, staff, and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to handle complex situations with professionalism and compassion.
Qualifications:
1. Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses.
2. Knowledge of the Nursing practices and nursing diagnosis.
3. Certified in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and First Aid.
4. Good communication and leadership skills.
5. Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices and procedures as required by the College of Nurses.
Pay: $65,000.00-$79,000.00 per year
