Role Description The Associate Veterinarian is a full-time, on-site role based at Trout Lake Animal Hospital in Vancouver, BC. This role involves performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions, and recommending appropriate diagnostic tests and treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include conducting surgeries and dental procedures as appropriate, prescribing medications, and providing follow-up care.

The Associate

Veterinarian will communicate clearly with clients about their pets’ health, preventive care, and treatment options,



while maintaining thorough and accurate medical records. The role also includes collaborating closely with veterinary technicians and support staff, contributing to a positive clinic culture, and adhering to clinic protocols and professional standards.

Qualifications

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) and eligibility for licensure in British Columbia.
- Experience in small animal medicine and surgery, DENTISTRY including routine procedures and preventive care.
- Strong diagnostic, clinical decision-making, and case management skills.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Commitment to continuing education and staying current with advances in veterinary practice.
- Comfort with up-to-date veterinary software like EZYvet
- and electronic medical records.
- Prior experience in a general practice and Emergency is an assest.
