Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a . This role involves preparing and decorating baked goods, ensuring food safety standards, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in baking, cake decorating, and food handling, with a strong focus on quality and presentation.

Duties

- Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, African cuisine, pastries, and other confections, adhering to recipes and quality standards
- Prepare specialty African bakery products, including Agege Bread, Coconut Bread, Butter Bread, Meat Pies, Sausage Rolls, and Chin Chin.
- Decorate cakes and desserts with artistic designs using various techniques and tools
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as mixing, portioning, and assembling ingredients
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Package baked goods for retail display or customer orders with attention to presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and storage areas in accordance with food safety standards




- Provide friendly and efficient customer service by assisting customers with product selections and answering questions about baked goods
- Follow all kitchen safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Skills

- Proven experience in cake decorating and food preparation within a bakery or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of African cuisine, baking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen operations
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail for precise decorating and consistent product quality
- Familiarity with food handling regulations and packaging procedures
- Creative flair for cake design combined with technical baking skills
- Experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about baking and culinary arts who thrive in a team-oriented environment dedicated to delivering exceptional baked goods. Pay: $16.50 per hour
