ABOUT THE POSITION

As a member of the Garde Manger Banquet Kitchen team on this contract at Terminal City Club, your previous culinary experience will be called upon in the preparation and service of food in our high-volume, full-service Banquet Kitchen. You will help ensure that our members and their guests enjoy the exceptional culinary experience that every area of Terminal City Club is proud to offer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and serve food according to the specific recipes and standards established by the culinary leadership team.
- Uphold safe food-handling practices, kitchen cleanliness and organization, and general health and safety standards in every assigned area.
- Manage workflow and inventory at the assigned workstation.
- Work flexibly in various parts of the operation, including areas outside the TCC banquet kitchen, as needed.
- Assist with related tasks outside the immediate workstation, including properly storing food deliveries, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization, and completing required temperature and chemical logs

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Garde Manger Banquet Cook in an upscale banquet environment, including work with plated and composed salads, canapés, cold display platters, cold sauces, and dressings.
- Experience executing multiple events within the same time-period,



with a proven ability to deliver a range of event styles, such as corporate meetings, weddings, large-scale galas, and traditional member events.
- Strong organizational and forward-planning skills.
- Completion of a culinary program is an asset, along with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
- Genuine interest in hospitality, with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Team-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional communication style.
- High standard of professionalism and attention to detail, ensuring consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and confidently solve problems while multitasking.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Valid FoodSafe certification.
- Availability to work flexible hospitality shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift, push and/or pull as per WorkSafe BC guidelines and stand for extended periods of up to eight hours.
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments, including on the cook line and in refrigerators and freezers.

Pay: $25.40-$27.00 per hour
