Battery Pack Test Engineer

Location: Windsor, ON

Work Arrangement: In office

Schedule: Primarily day shift, with occasional rotation to afternoon/midnight shifts (approximately 3–4 times per year)

We are seeking a Battery Pack Test Engineer to support battery pack testing and validation within a state-of-the-art battery laboratory supporting electric vehicle programs. The primary focus of this role will be operating battery test equipment, executing test procedures, analyzing test data, and preparing test reports.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate battery pack test systems and execute battery testing according to established procedures.
- Prepare test setups, perform pre- and post-test checks, and work closely with lab technicians.
- Monitor testing, troubleshoot issues, and escalate problems when required.
- Collect, analyze, and process test data and prepare technical test reports.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, test procedures, and work instructions.
- Communicate with test requestors regarding test status and results.
- Support root cause analysis and issue resolution related to battery testing.
- Develop and update test procedures, work instructions, and reporting processes.
- Help optimize test equipment utilization and maintain a safe, organized laboratory environment.
- Follow all applicable laboratory safety and testing standards.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering/technical field.
- 3+ years of laboratory or engineering experience.




- Hands-on experience with testing equipment and laboratory instruments.
- Experience configuring, executing, and monitoring engineering tests.
- Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries and battery systems.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Experience
- Experience with EV battery pack testing or lithium-ion battery testing.
- Experience with AVL PUMA or similar battery test systems.
- Experience with CAN communication/tools, such as Vector CANalyzer.
- Experience with MATLAB or Python for test data processing and reporting.
- Experience with battery pack diagnostics, root cause analysis, or teardown.
- Experience with DVP&R;/test plan execution.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 or ISO 9001 laboratory standards.

Additional Requirements
- This is a 100% onsite position.
- Engineers will participate in an occasional off-shift rotation, including afternoon and midnight shifts, approximately 3–4 times per year.
- Occasional travel to the United States (approximately 3–4 times per year) may be required for meetings, lab visits, or testing activities.
- A valid driver's license/driving record is required for background screening.

Pay: $40.00-$41.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
