Behavioural Interventionist
Successful candidates will be hired directly by the family and paid through AFU funding. The process involves a phone call with the BC or JBC, a play meeting with the child, and then being hired and working 1:1 with them.
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10:00-12:00pm at daycare. Time is NON-NEGOTIABLE and must be able to begin immediately.
Monthly team meetings and overlaps with BC and JBC are MANDATORY.
This 4 year-old boy is active! He loves to run, jump, and climb. He is a sensory seeker that loves music, texture play, and being outside.
Currently working on following routines in his daycare center, developing communication skills, and maintaining emotional regulation.
This learner is in the process of acquiring AAC and is a suspected Gestalt Language Processor.
Ability to speak Spanish an asset. Willingness to learn key Spanish phrases is also an asset.
Responsibilities:
-Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to address behavioural challenges
-Provide direct behavioural support and intervention to client in the daycare and the home
-Be able to play, be creative, and have fun with a leaner
-Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and treatment
-Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client interactions and progress
-Keep client information confidential
Experience:
-At least 1 years prior experience working with or supporting children (e.g., working a school, as a tutor, as a BI or other contexts).
-Strong communication (English) and interpersonal skills
-Willingness to learn
-Be at least 19 years of age
-Be able to provide a transparent criminal record check
-Be able to provide 2 references to indicate reliability and goodness of fit for this role
Training Provided, as needed and related to:
-Knowledge of behaviour analysis principles and techniques
-Relevant intervention strategies through behaviour skills training related to the learner

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help the learner develop social intelligence, emotional regulation and executive functioning skills, with ongoing training provided by a RASP-A Behaviour Consultant, BCBA, and ESDM-certified therapist.
Payment will be through the Autism Funding Unit. This role is a self-employed role.
Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6.0 – 8.0 per week
