Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Biology tutor to join our tutoring team and provide in-person, one-on-one academic support to high school students in Biology, including Life Sciences 11, Anatomy & Physiology 12 and AP Biology.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of high school and advanced Biology and be able to explain complex biological concepts, processes, and terminology in a clear and engaging way. Tutors should be comfortable adapting their instruction to different learning needs, supporting students with their current coursework, and helping them develop both a strong conceptual foundation and effective approaches to studying Biology.

We are looking for an educator who is patient, engaging, knowledgeable, and able to build strong working relationships with students.

Job Responsibilities

- Provide one-on-one, in-person tutoring in high school Biology, including Life Sciences 11, Anatomy & Physiology 12 and AP Biology.
- Help students develop a strong understanding of key biological concepts, processes, and terminology.
- Break down complex scientific concepts and vocabulary using clear, accessible explanations.
- Support students with current schoolwork, assignments, assessments, and course materials.




- Provide support with AP Biology course content and exam preparation when required.
- Identify individual areas of difficulty and provide targeted instruction and practice.
- Help students develop strong study strategies and move beyond memorization toward deeper conceptual understanding.
- Plan and deliver lessons that respond to each student's individual academic needs and curriculum.
- Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback regarding progress or concerns to KEY stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with KEY educators to support students' academic goals.

Your Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field, preferably from a Canadian university, or comparable credentials.
- Solid knowledge of high school Biology and AP Biology.
- Familiarity with the BC Education Curriculum.
- Prior teaching and/or tutoring experience required.
- Experience teaching or tutoring AP Biology is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting students with varied English proficiency is considered an asset.
- Available to provide tutoring in person at KEY Education’s offices located near Oakridge Mall in Vancouver.

Immediate Tutoring Need We are currently looking to fill an immediate tutoring need for a Life Sciences 11 student. The student requires one 2-hour, in-person session per week at KEY Education.

Applicants who are available during one or more of the following times are strongly encouraged to apply:

- Thursday: 4:00 PM–6:00PM
- Friday: 4:00 PM–8:00PM

Additional scheduling opportunities may become available in October. Beyond this immediate need, the successful candidate may have opportunities to work with additional Biology and AP Biology students based on student demand and tutor availability.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour
