Business Development & Customer Retention Specialist

Permanent part time Position | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–3:30 PM Edmonton West End | In-Office Position$30,000 per year + performance incentives

Looking for a Career That Fits Your Life?

Printer World International is looking for a friendly, confident and highly organized person to join our team in a Business Development & Customer Retention role. Perhaps a parent who needs these hours and extra income.

This position offers a schedule that can be difficult to find:

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

No evenings. No weekends. No out-of-town travel.

It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who wants a professional, permanent position while still having more time and flexibility outside of work.

Printer World has been locally owned and operated in Edmonton since 1985. We offer a friendly, family-oriented work environment where we believe good people should be trusted to do their jobs.

We don’t believe in micromanaging. So you need to be a sell starter and know how to plan you day and work your plan . Mature dripline required

What Is the Job?

This is an inside business development and customer retention position, not an outside sales job.

You don’t need technical knowledge of printers, copiers or commercial printing equipment. We will teach you about our products and services.

What matters much more to us is how you communicate with people.

Printer World has a large existing customer base. Many of those customers use us for only one or two of the many products and services we provide.

Your job is to talk with our customers, strengthen those relationships and discover other ways we may be able to help them.

Most of your customer communication will be by telephone and email from our Edmonton West End office.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will

- Contact existing Printer World customers primarily by telephone and email.
- Have friendly, professional conversations about their businesses and needs.
- Build stronger relationships with our existing customers.
- Reconnect with customers we haven’t spoken with recently.
- Ask good questions and listen for opportunities.
- Discover products or services customers may currently be purchasing elsewhere.
- Introduce customers to other areas of Printer World’s business.
- Generate interest in our products and services.
- Arrange meetings for our salespeople or product specialists when appropriate.
- Identify appropriate contacts and decision-makers within customer organizations.
- Follow up consistently on conversations and opportunities.
- Enter customer information, notes, opportunities and follow-up dates into our CRM.
- Work with our sales, printing and service teams to make sure opportunities are followed through.

You don’t need to be the technical expert. Your job is to open the conversation,

discover the need and connect the customer with the right person on our team. You’ll Represent Both Sides of Printer World

Office Technology & Equipment

We provide printers, multifunction equipment, copiers, wide-format equipment, ink and toner, supplies, service programs and related business technology.

Commercial Printing & Marketing, clothing embroidery

We also provide commercial printing, signage, banners, decals, wide-format graphics, displays, promotional products, branded apparel, embroidery and other marketing materials.

Many customers don’t realize everything we can provide.

A customer might purchase printers and toner from us but buy their signs, promotional products and branded clothing somewhere else.

Another customer might use Printer World for commercial printing but not realize we can also provide and service their office equipment.

Finding those opportunities is the heart of this position.

Who We’re Looking For For this position, personality, communication skills and organization are more important than industry experience.

An important part of this job is your telephone presence.

You should

- Have an excellent speaking voice and professional telephone manner.
- Sound warm, confident and natural on the phone.
- Genuinely enjoy talking with people.
- Be comfortable initiating business conversations.
- Be conversational rather than sounding like you’re reading from a sales script.
- Be a good listener.
- Be naturally curious and comfortable asking questions.
- Communicate clearly and professionally by email.
- Be highly organized.
- Be valuable at following through.
- Be comfortable learning and using CRM software.
- Be able to manage multiple conversations and follow-up dates.
- Be self-motivated and capable of organizing your own workday.
- Be dependable and accountable without requiring constant supervision.
- Enjoy working independently while still being part of a team.

Previous experience in customer service, inside sales, account management, business development or customer retention is helpful, but industry experience is not required. A Schedule Designed for Work-Life Balance

We recognize that the traditional 8-to-5 schedule doesn’t work for everyone.

That’s why this position is different.

Your regular hours will be:
